Support thru Scriptures
Note to reader: I think I view this page of this website the most. I read and reread these over and over. I have had cruel people tell me adoption isn't from God, or that adopted children aren't really my children, so I ponder scriptures a lot looking for support when I don't find it in various local churches. Yes, adoption is from God --we are all adopted sons and daughters (princes and princesses of the mighty King!) Also adopted children are given to loving mothers who dream of being a parent to be REAL families. Anyone who thinks differently should seek more advice because I think ALL children are blessings from God. Be blessed friends---sandra

Our Heavenly Father LOVES us and doesn't want us to be childless... His mighty words show his LOVE.

"When the door of happiness closes, another opens; but often times we
look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one, which has been opened for us."    Author unknown

Here are some of my favorites:

Psalm 27:10 "Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me."

Matthew 18:5 says: "And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me."

Psalm 113:9 says: "He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children."

Psalm 127:3 -NLV  "See, children are a gift from the Lord. The children born to us are our special pay."
Psalm 127:3 NLT   "Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him."

"Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west." Isaiah 43:5

Jeremiah 32:27 says: "I am the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?"

"...Before I FORMED thee in the belly, I KNEW thee; and before thou came forth out of the womb I sanctified thee..." Jeremiah 1:5

"For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless." Psalm 84:11

They that WAIT on the Lord will renew their strength! Isaiah 40:31

Genesis 49:25  "Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb."

Is infertility YOUR MOUNTAIN? It's time to tell your mountain to MOVE....
Matthew 17: 20. He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

*********not sure which one is the original version of this quote:

"Many things I have tried to grasp, and have lost. That which I have placed in God's hands I still have."     -- Martin Luther

"I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all; But whatever I have placed in God's hands that I still possess." Martin Luther

"Simply having children does not make Mothers." A Shedd

The patron saint of adoption:

http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/saintw50.htm
Saint William of Rochester
William led a wild and misspent youth, but as an adult he had a complete conversion, devoting himself to God, caring especially for poor and neglected children. He worked as a baker, and gave every tenth loaf to the poor. He attended Mass daily, and one morning on his way to church he found an infant abandoned on the threshold. He named the baby David, and adopted him, and taught him his trade.

"There's no thrill in easy sailing when the skies are clear and blue, there's no joy in merely doing things which anyone can do. But there is some satisfaction that is mighty sweet to take, when you reach a destination that you thought you'd never make." -Spirella

Adoption brings out the "duh?" in most people that don't understand --if you are looking for support, this link will help you relate that ALL people say stupid things and don't realize they are being totally insensitive to your needs. It's easy to laugh at reading some of these situations now, but when someone says them directly to you...you might just burst into tears.
